I enjoy your show as our family continues to grow toward simplicity, also a Dave Ramsey fan and not doing so well as of late. Also, I am beginning to research more about homeschooling. I have a daughter in a Catholic school. She is in kindergarten. I actually love the school and teachers but unfortunately can already see the social atmosphere beginning to influence my daughters choices and behaviors such as increased tantrums and treatment of her other siblings based on how she is sometimes treated by peers. All she ever talks about at school is what the other kids think of this or that and that sometimes they make fun of her for the way she says things etc, even though she has no speech issues, they just like to poke fun. With that said, I was wondering if you or perhaps sqpn would consider doing a show on catholic homeschooling. My biggest concern is balancing a consistent educational program for my daughter and eventually her younger siblings with the daily tasks of caring for a baby and toddler. I best go, nap time is over. Peace and love, De Grantz

It’s funny you should say that. Allyson was thinking about adding some blogging content on Catholic Homeschooling.

That would be much appreciated! I look forward to reading it:)

Love listening to the two of you do the back and forth thing. It comforts me to know that other people “fall off” Dave Ramsey occasionally. We’ve also struggled with staying on point this Nov – Dec. But it’s so helpful that we’ve been on it, because without it we could have been lost with last month’s unexpected AC replacement.
Re: the Hallows. I think Rowling introduced them for a few reasons. One – to distract Harry. She planted doubt in Harry’s mind about Dumbledore’s intentions. Two – plot, she writes Voldemort obsessed with finding something (the Elderwand), which in turn forces Harry to make his decision (horcruxes or hallows; destroying “evil” or selfish gain) Three(spoiler HP7 ending) – as a device so that Harry is “not alone” going to his death. Also, (another spoiler) the wand is a key point in how Harry destroys Voldemort.
As an aside – I do believe you have to read all the books in order to fully understand #7. The movies are dismally weak.
